melodic heavyrock from central europe (austria/bavaria)

founded back in 1984 – speed limit managed to step out of the austrian national rock and metal league (where they have been voted "best national metal-act by leading music-magazine "rennbahnexpress" in 1989), peaking in european touring, video airplay and releases from japan to skandinavia and usa. between 1986 and 1992 the band produced 3 records. hitsingle "lady" from "the prophecy" (1988) charted in 7 european countries and put the name SPEED LIMIT on the worldmap of 80ies heavy metal. in 1994 the band stopped existing (like most "sleaze & hairy bands" in this decade).

the year 2008 saw the unexpected reunion of SPEED LIMIT. out of an easy jam the band had to realise that they are able to blow the fuses again. a remarkable test gig in april (support for scottish rocklegend NAZARETH) forced the bandmates to contignue the heavy adventure after a break of 15 years. after a succesfull reunion tour (october/november 2008) the band is constantly playing live shows and tours in the classic rock & metal-circus (with MANNFRED MANN´S EARTHBAND, NAZARETH, URIAH HEEP a.o.). as a result of the overwhelming reactions of live audiences SPEED LIMIT agreed to work on new material, which is planned to be released in the beginn of 2010.
